Stuart's passion for retail and design served as the impetus for transforming Corman's Christmas showroom into the Corman Marketplace-the premier destination for everything Christmas and more. It is his refined sensibility and high style that bring many sophisticated touches making The Corman Marketplace so special today.

Joining the national manufacturing group in 2001, Hurt was specifically selected with the charge to recreate the Christmas showroom and bring it to the next level. Stuart's only comment at the time: "Stand back and watch it grow."

With a close following of clients and an ever-growing retail venue, Stuart maintains a busy schedule, as well. The president-elect of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID), he is also involved in many local and regional organizations including the Pink Tie Gala, supporting the fight against breast cancer, and My Kentucky Home Remodeled.

Hurt, a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a B. A. in Interior Design, entered retail as a visual merchandiser for local boutiques, later working up to management at McAlpin's (now Dillard's). In conjunction, Stuart owned and still operates, on a limited basis, J. Stuart Interiors. With his technical and detail-inspired emphasis, Stuart always has the distinct ability to make design taken on a clean, contemporary approach.
